(VOVworld) – Quang Ngai province has marked the 44th anniversary of  a massacre in My Lai hamlet. On March 16, 1968, the US troops killed 504 civilians there, mostly women and children, shocking the world. 44 years have elapsed, Son Tinh district has been given a facelift. Its Tinh Khe commune has been listed as one of four models to pilot a national program on building new rural areas for the 2011-2015 period. The local authority is now focusing on assisting people to develop production. Võ Văn Đại is Deputy Chairman of the Tinh Khe Commune People’s Committee: “The commune always prioritizes human resource development and job creation, so people’s living conditions are quite good. We also attach special importance to developing transport network.”
