(VOV) – “Cham culture - preservation, development, and integration” is the main theme of the ongoing culture, sports, and tourism festival of Cham ethnic people in the south central province of Ninh Thuan. Yesterday’s opening ceremony brought visitors an art performance featuring Cham cultural identities. Ho Anh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism spoke at the event: "This year's Cham ethnic culture, sports, and tourism festival coincides with the Cham people’s traditional Kate festival, promoting the values and vitality of Cham culture among many Vietnamese minorities. The festival creates an opportunity for Cham people from all over Vietnam to exchange their experiences in preserving and promoting Cham culture and strengthen their solidarity while giving other people a better understanding of the Cham minority."

Festival goers can enjoy a photo exhibition, a book display, art performances, a culinary show, and a sports competition. An exhibition that opened yesterday features photographs of Cham rituals and 500 documents and artifacts of minorities from different regions - the Red River delta, the northern mountain area, the central coastal region, the Truong Son central highlands, and the southern delta. The festival will end tomorrow.
