The Australian government has helped Vietnam develop an innovation ecosystem since 2018 through its flagship Aus4Innovation program. Australia recently announced that this program will be extended to 2028, making it a 10-year commitment with a total budget of 22 million USD.

Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski told the event that the two countries share the same vision of future growth based on science and technology and leveraging the potential of international cooperation in global and regional innovation. As Vietnam and Australia are striving to upgrade their relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, the two sides will continue to further promote cooperation in trade, investment, defense, security, and knowledge exchange for innovation.

After five years operating in 37 provinces in Vietnam, the Aus4Innovation program has laid the foundation for 82 partnerships between Australian and Vietnamese universities, research agencies, high-tech businesses, and policy makers, contributed to national policies on science, technology and innovation, and developed tools for a favorable innovation environment.
