(VOVWORLD) - Medical robots manufactured by the Military Technical Academy are being rolled out to assist COVID-19 prevention and control activities in Ho Chi Minh City, currently the nation’s largest pandemic hotspot.

The robot, known as “Vibot”, is the result of a scientific research project conducted by the academy. It has been placed in charge of transporting food, medicine, necessities, and other important items to patient’s rooms.

It was first piloted in 108 Military Central Hospital in April.

The robot has also been used in COVID-19 isolation and treatment areas in Bach Mai Hospital in Ha Nam province and Bac Giang province’s General Hospital.

Following their previous success, medical robots have been sent to Ho Chi Minh City since late July.

The robot started providing COVID-19 treatment at field hospital No. 7 in An Khanh ward of Thu Duc city from August 9.
