(VOVWORLD) - Air Force helicopters participated in a practice at Dien Bien Phu airport recently before a big military parade on May 7 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory.

Soldiers meet at 4 a.m. on April 24 to get ready for their practice flying over Dien Bien.

Every helicopter undergoes thorough inspection before participating in the event.

The armed forces, including the Air Force, will join the parade at Dien Bien Provincial Stadium on May 7 to commemorate 70 years of the Dien Bien Phu Victory over French colonialists.

Each helicopter undergoes a thorough check before it can take off.

The practice needs to guarantee the safety of people, weapons, and equipment.

The May 7 parade will include all military and militia forces, including the Air Force.

On March 13, 1954, the Vietnamese revolutionary army began its first attack on the heavily fortified base of Dien Bien Phu, starting a significant 56-day campaign. This victory directly led to the signing of the Geneva Accords, bringing an end to the war and restoring peace in Indochina.

The parade highlights the importance and historical value of the Dien Bien Phu victory and the development of the Vietnam People's Army.

The Air Force's practice attracts a lot of local residents.
