Hoàng Trù village is located in Kim Liên commune, Nam Đàn district, Nghệ An province, about 15 km west of Vinh city. The Hoàng Trù relic site is associated with the birthplace of Uncle Ho, his childhood and stories about his parents.

The relic complex includes the house of Uncle Ho’s maternal grandparents Hoàng Đường and Nguyễn Thị Kép, a house to worship the Hoàng Xuân clan, and the house of Uncle Ho’s parents Nguyễn Sinh Sắc and Hoàng Thị Loan. The 3500m2 complex is typical for Vietnamese rural areas.
