The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism held Vietnam Family Festival 2023 in Hanoi, with a photo exhibition featuring 70 photos of families, workers who came from rural areas to the city to make a living, and people struggling to take care of their children and pay for their education. There are also dialogues on building family happiness and cultural families during industrialization, modernization, and international integration, and on preserving traditional cultural values in Vietnamese families.

Ben Tre province is celebrating Vietnam Family Day with a program called "Arms of love" and a culinary contest called "Family meal, bond of love”. Hau Giang province is holding a contest on family and gender equality. Bac Giang province launched a Festival of Women Startups and Happy Families.

Dang Van Mau, a Dao man of Phieng Luong commune, Moc Chau district, represented his family at a ceremony to honor outstanding cultural families in Son La province: “Cultural and happy families should have good economic conditions and uphold the cultural identity of their group. My family has always been a role model in life and production. My grandparents and parents always listen to us and tell us to study well and strive to stabilize the family economy. Upholding the cultural identity of the Dao, I wear our traditional clothes and encourage other people to preserve our tradition and abandon backward customs.”

Promoting the fine cultural traditions of each family also contributes to socio-economic development.

Pham Hong Thu, Deputy Director of Son La’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: “Cultural families should be based on three pillars: affection, public opinion, and national identity preservation. These three pillars should be developed equally. We will continue to encourage the movement of building cultural families, especially in remote, mountainous, and border areas.”
