(VOVWORLD) - In recent years, Lang Son province has implemented multiple policies to attract investment to promote border trade which has greatly contributed to its local socio-economic development. As part of the effort, the Lang Son Customs Department has applied modern management methods to facilitate businesses.

The Lang Son Provincial Customs Department has modernized its means of inspection and control, reformed administrative procedures and implemented electronic customs procedures, to create favorable conditions for import and export activities and shorten customs clearance time.

Lang Son Customs aims to ensure that all customs procedures are carried out electronically. Nguyen Quang Bach, Head of the Supervision and Management Division of the Lang Son Provincial Customs Department, said: “We are applying modern customs management methods using tech platforms and moving from pre-inspection to post-inspection. This helps reduce the amount of paperwork, procedures, and travel time, and improves customs clearance efficiency. It also increases transparency, improves professionalism, and creates favorable conditions for import and export activities.”

Since the beginning of the year, the Lang Son Customs Department and China’s Nanning Customs have worked closely to facilitate import and export activities between the two sides. As a result, the total import-export turnover through Lang Son province in the first half of this year was more than 2.2 billion USD, doubling the figure of the same period last year.

Nguyen Hong Linh, Director of the Lang Son Provincial Customs Department, said: “In the coming time, we will improve the skills, competence, and professionalism of our staff who will master technology to implement the Digital Customs and Smart Customs models. We continue to strengthen administrative reform, modernize customs, smoothly operate the electronic customs clearance system, and promote the digital border gate platform. We will coordinate with relevant forces and Nanning Customs to improve customs clearance capacity.”
