The display jointly organized by Hai Phong Museum and Quang Ninh Museum is divided into three main themes. Part one "Sediments of time" features marine culture through archaeological sites such as Cai Beo and Ha Long. Part two is called "Colors of marine cultural heritage" introducing traditional festivals, from Do Son buffalo fighting festival to Tra Co communal house festival, along with unique forms of folk performances. Part three of the exhibition titled "Heritage Connection" affirms the linked role between Hai Phong and Quang Ninh in cultural and economic development and marine environmental protection.
Do Quyet Tien, Director of Quang Ninh Provincial Museum, said, "the exhibition is an opportunity for us not only to learn about and be proud of cultural heritage but also show our responsibility to preserve those values. Now that the two localities are working together to take responsibility for promoting the world heritage site of Ha Long Bay-Cat Ba Archipelago. From there, we have even more motivation to turn cultural heritage into a resource for sustainable development.”
