The President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Nguyen Thien Nhan, reiterated that the consistent direction and policy of the Party and State of Vietnam was to create favorable conditions for religions, including Catholics to follow their beliefs.

Nhan said Catholics and the Vietnam Catholic Church were an inseparable part of Vietnam’s national solidarity, and that they always accompany the nation and join efforts with their peers both at home and abroad in the interests of national construction and defense.

Nhan said he hopes the Catholic Bishops’ Conference will continue to boost the patriotic tradition and work together with the nation in the new period.

“We should strictly follow the motto, wherever there are Catholic followers, there will be a peaceful life. Wherever Catholics are, national solidarity and living standards will be enhanced. The Vietnamese government will facilitate the most favorable conditions for Catholic people to develop together with the Vietnamese nation,” said Nhan.
