Addressing the launch ceremony of Vietnam’s biggest vaccination campaign ever in Hanoi on Saturday, the Prime Minister said the vaccine strategy focuses on import, technology transfer, and research to develop and produce vaccines in Vietnam to provide free inoculation to the people.
“Let the messages “I am for everyone and everyone is for myself” and “Love others as I love myself” to illuminate, inspire and spread in the community. The Party, State and people understand and appreciate the sacrifices and hard work of frontline forces like medical staff, army officers, and police for the community, especially medical staff."
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh added, "On behalf of the leaders of the Party and State, I would like to express my thanks for the unanimous response of people at home and abroad in combating the pandemic and the implementation of the vaccination campaign across the country.”
Thanks to Vietnam’s vaccine diplomacy, foreign partners and organizations have committed to supplying over 100 million doses in 2021. Technology transfer, research and production of vaccines in the country are being strongly promoted. About 4 million doses of vaccine have been administered so far in Vietnam.
The goal of the Vaccine Strategy is to give free annual injections to the people to achieve herd immunity, the Prime Minister said, adding that Vietnam must be able to have enough vaccines for the population from imported sources and domestic production. 75 million people will be injected with 150 million does in the second half of this year and early next year.
