Medical workers honored on Vietnamese Physicians’ Day

(VOVWORLD) - Various activities have been held nationwide in honor of doctors, physicians and medical workers on the Vietnamese Physicians’ Day, February 27.

On Saturday, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited Duc Giang General Hospital, the medical station of Bo De ward in Hanoi’ outlying district of Long Bien, and the family of Bui Van Quyen, chairman of the Farmers' Association and a member of the COVID-19 prevention and control steering committee in Kim Son commune, Gia Lam district.

At the meeting with Duc Giang General Hospital’s staff, Madam Xuan said she hopes that the hospital will continue to train and develop qualified and virtuous doctors and nurses to acquire the world’s medical achievements and improve their medical ethics and behavior culture.

She took the occasion to ask leaders of the Ministry of Health to pay more attention to the training of hospital managers to better the hospital administration towards minimizing professional risks.

On the same day, a ceremony took place in HCMC to receive state-level commendations in honor of great contributions of medical workers and outstanding examples during the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Nen said that the Party Committee, government, and city dwellers are proud and grateful to the medical team nationwide for their dedication to taking care of people.

He added that HCMC’s health sector experienced a difficult and challenging year lat year when dealing with the unprecedented fourth wave of the pandemic in which frontline medical workers became the main force in the fight to save people.
