May Day: Working class is core force of building a modern country

(VOVWORLD) - The Month for Workers, initiated by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor 10 years ago, is a key event this year with the motto “Unity, Creativity, Overcoming Difficulties, Development.” The campaign underscores the role of workers in national development and calls on Trade Unions to play their part in taking care of working people’s lives and protecting their rights.

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu emphasized the Month for Workers - Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health this year, saying the Trade Union focuses on implementing the Program "75 thousand initiatives" to bring the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress to life.

“We raise awareness of the glorious tradition of the working class and the trade union organization, especially the basic contents of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress relating to trade union organization and worker movements. We choose a series of activities related to sharing, understanding, and thanking employees to get closer to employers and employees. All these are to realize the ultimate goal of building harmonious and stable labor relations,” said Hieu.
