Hanoi promotes itself through tourism activities

(VOVWORLD) - After a long hiatus due to COVID-19, Hanoi has been conducting many activities to revive tourism. These activities have introduced Hanoi as a capital city rich in culture, peace-loving and growing, and a safe, friendly and interesting destination for foreign tourists.

Since the beginning of this year, Hanoi has launched many promotions and festivals to restore tourism, including the Hanoi Tourism Festival 2022, the Hanoi Night of Dreams, the Tourism Gift Festival 2022, and the Hanoi International Film Festival.

With many new, attractive points in regards of organization, the festivals and tourism promotion programs have given new experience for visitors and conveyed a message of Hanoi full of inspiration, creativity, and energy.

Nguyen Tien Dat, Director of AZA Travel, said these activities have inspired tourism companies and travel agents in Hanoi after the long COVID hiatus.

“This was an opportunity to introduce to foreign visitors Hanoi's products and tourist attractions. These activities were successful and have been applauded by international friends,” said Dat.

Hanoi’s recent promotion programs have driven a strong recovery by the tourism sector. The municipal People's Committee has rolled out a plan to restore and develop tourism in the capital while flexibly controlling the pandemic.

Hanoi has launched new products and services based on the capital’s historical and cultural sites. These include a night tour of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, a cycling tour of Bat Trang pottery village, and visits to the pedestrian zone surrounding Son Tay fortress and the Trinh Cong Son pedestrian street.

Berangere Tachenne, a French tourist, recalled her stay in Hanoi, she went sightseeing from morning till late at night.

There are lots of things to discover in the Old Quarter around Sword Lake. Other interesting tours have been launched, such as visiting Bat Trang pottery village’s workshops to watch pottery being made and then trying your hand at being a potter.

“Bat Trang is a beautiful, peaceful village that sells stunning ceramic products. Visiting Thang Long Imperial Citadel taught me a lot about Vietnamese history and culture. It’s even better when you can eat a lot of delicious street food in Hanoi, visit the Phung Khac Khoan fabric market, and buy interesting Vietnamese products,” said Berangere.

Hanoi received more than 1.5 million visitors in October, including 212,000 foreign tourists, according to the city’s Tourism Department. In the first 10 months of the year, Hanoi welcomed more than 15.3 million visitors, up five-fold from last year.
