Zoohackathon Vietnam 2021: Competition on innovation to save wildlife launched

(VOVWORLD) -The Zoohackathon Vietnam 2021 competition “Coding to end wildlife trafficking” is calling for entries until October 31. Zoohackathon is a global competition launched by the US Department of State.

This year, Zoohackathon is held in Uganda, Bolivia, Saudi Arabia, Gabon, Republic of the Congo and Vietnam. In Vietnam, the competition is organized by CHANGE, an NGO for environmental protection activities in collaboration with WildAid, FPT University and VietSeeds Foundation.

Organizers said this is an opportunity to attract talented and enthusiastic students for great impacts. “Participants construct optimal solutions, helping to address wildlife trafficking and illegal trading issue as well as preserve endangered species in Vietnam,” according to Zoohackathon Vietnam website.

The competition will take place from November 11 to 15, 2021. The three best teams will win a cash prize of 1,500 USD; scholarships to participate in a personal development program; and the opportunity to join the global Zoohackathon.
