The camp is attended by 155 people from 28 countries, representing the youths with outstanding achievements in study, sports and arts, who make considerable contributions to the building of the overseas Vietnamese community.

Hoi An has recently been selected by New York-based magazine Travel and Leisure as top tourism destination this year.

Le Hai Ngoc from Kazakhstan said this is his first time to visit Hoi An.

“The atmosphere is excellent though it is a bit hot. Its attractiveness has helped me forget the heat. Today I took a boat in Hoai river and released flower garlands and colorful lanterns to pray for good wishes. Lots of lanterns displayed on the river and streets make me feel that I’m in an old world. The locals are friendly and enthusiastic to show me the places where I can buy what I need,” said Ngoc.

Coming from Thailand, Tran Viet Thai said Hoi An is one of the most impressive tourist attractions during this year’s summer camp.

“Hoi An is beautiful. There is an ancient street in Thailand but it is different. I like colorful lanterns. There are many kinds of food and drink which are delicious. The scenery, especially the image of taking boats to release flower garlands, are amazing,” said Thai.
