(VOVWORLD) - Goalie Van Lam saved a penalty for Vietnam and Tien Dung's goal was denied in the first half. 

Following the scoreless draw with Thailand in their 5th World Cup qualifier at My Dinh stadium on Tuesday, Vietnam continued to lead group G with 11 points followed by Malaysia with 9 points.

 

A total of 40 teams are drawn into eight groups of five to play home-and-away round-robin matches during the AFC second round of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification. The eight group winners and the four best runners-up will advance to the third round.
