The World Bank praised Vietnam’s efforts to boost growth, accelerate privatization, and keep pace with neighboring countries. In recent years, the Vietnamese government has accelerated privatization. The state sector now accounts for 40% of the national economy. The proportion of agriculture reduced to 18% of GDP and the rest was taken up by the production and service sectors. Vietnam’s private sector is growing thanks to an increasing population and labor force. Salaries have increased and prices remained stable.
