World Bank leader presents to Prime Minister report of Vietnam economy

(VOVWORLD) - World Bank (WB) Country Director for Vietnam Ousmane Dione has presented to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc the latest WB reports on Vietnam’s socio-economic issues, which he said to help the Vietnamese government better plan national development.

At a meeting in Hanoi on Wednesday, Dione told Prime Minister Phuc of important cooperative issues, including Vietnam’s use of loans from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Prime Minister Phuc said Vietnam has a close partnership with big international financial mechanisms, including the World Bank. Vietnam saw robust economic growth and improved living standards last year despite global complexities, Mr. Phuc said, adding that Vietnam is developing its industry toward applying advanced technologies and wants advice from the World Bank in this area.
