Work starts on Mekong Delta’s biggest mainland wind project

(VOVWORLD) - Construction on the first phase of the biggest mainland wind farm in the Mekong Delta, the Hoa Binh 5 wind power farm, began on Monday in Bac Lieu province.

The first phase of the 138 million USD project is designed to have 26 wind turbines with a capacity of 3 – 4.2 MW each.

The project, which is scheduled to be completed late next year, will be integrated with aquaculture production to improve land use effectiveness.

Bac Lieu is now home to 10 wind power projects with combined investment of over 1 billion USD.
