VOV expands coverage in East Sea, south central region

(VOVWORLD) - The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) will cover all 8 south central provinces and thousands of km2 in the East Sea (known internationally as the South China Sea) after a new transmission station is completed by the end of the year.

Construction of the 400kw station commenced on Tuesday in Ninh Thuan province. VOV President Nguyen The Ky said the new transmitter will bring 8 radio channels to millions of offshore Vietnamese fishermen and forces working in the East Sea, contributing to safeguarding Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty.

"We must exercise our marine and information sovereignty. The Voice of Vietnam must cover the entire Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes to demonstrate our sovereignty. The new station will cover the entire East Sea,” said Mr. Ky.
