The information was heard at a conference in Da Nang on Wednesday reviewing 30 years of the Loan Program from the National Employment Fund for the 1992-2022 period.

Pham Viet Thu, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of the Blind, said that many visually impaired people have used the loans in production to become well-off.

“The percentage of poor households in 1992 when the program began was over 80%. Now it is reduced to 13.7%. With funding from the National Employment Fund and help from the local administration, many organizations and individuals have increased their incomes and improved their lives. We’ll promote the results, give loans to more people, generate jobs, and improve the living conditions of visually impaired people,” said Mr. Thu
