Viettel and Qualcomm organize Vietnam's largest Open RAN conference

(VOVWORLD) - Telecomm organizations, enterprises, and researchers from Vietnam and abroad discussed the roadmap for expanding the commercialization of Open RAN, aiming toward efficient and sustainable digital infrastructure, at an event co-organized by Viettel and Qualcomm in Hanoi on Wednesday.

The Open RAN Connect 2025 International Conference marked the largest 5G Open RAN conference ever held in Vietnam. 

Nguyen Khac Lich, director general of the Information Technology Industry Department at the Ministry of Science and Technology, expressed desire for autonomy in strategic, foundational, and core technologies, while fostering Vietnamese enterprises, organizations, and talents with the creativity, expertise, and global competitiveness to lead in key technological fields such as semiconductors, AI, and 5G.

"The adoption of Resolution 57 and the Digital Technology Industry Law by the National Assembly in June 2025 has laid a solid legal foundation for advancing the digital technology industry,” he said.
