Themed “Public Private Partnership - The Key Driver for Comprehensive Recovery and Sustainable, Resilient and Innovative Growth”, the dialogue was attended by WEF President Borge Brende, ministers, leaders of Vietnamese agencies and global and regional leaders of the world’s leading groups and businesses.

Opening the event, Schwab spoke highly of Vietnam’s quick implementation of vaccinations, while expressing his belief that the country will defeat the pandemic and continue maintaining its impressive growth momentum in the coming decades.

In his speech, Prime Minister Chinh affirmed Vietnam’s determination to recover and develop the economy, while emphasizing that the government and businesses need to strengthen the public-private partnership to overcome difficulties in the context of the pandemic. He said Vietnam is determined to promote institutional improvement, reduce administrative procedures, and fight corruption and negative phenomena.

The Prime Minister called on investors to restore safe production in industrial, economic, hi-tech and processing zones to maintain orders and supply chains, as well as invest in fields of Vietnam’s priority with special incentives such as hi-tech, information technology, support industry, smart agriculture, environmental protection, and renewable energy.

He stressed the need to build infrastructure and projects for social security, train high-quality human resources, and promote research and development and innovation to make Vietnam a center in the regional and global value chains.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the Vietnamese Government is ready to strengthen dialogue and coordination within the framework of public-private partnership to encourage the response and participation of all businesses and people.

He suggested that models such as the Public-Private Partnership Program for Sustainable Agriculture be replicated in other potential areas of cooperation. The World Economic Forum's Country Strategic Dialogue on Vietnam needs to become a regular mechanism between Vietnam’s Government leaders and WEF businesses and experts, Prime Minister Chinh said.
