“Vietnam-US relations grow steadily”

(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese Ambassador to the US, Pham Quang Vinh, hosted a talk on Vietnam-US relations with professors and experts from the US National Academy of Public Administration. Mr. Vinh said that over the past two decades, since the diplomatic ties were established in 1995, the two countries have made significant progress with the establishment of their comprehensive partnership in 2013.

Two-way trade increased more than 100 times to reach 50 billion USD last year. The two sides have also strengthened their cooperation in security and defence with the signing of the Joint Vision Statement 2015.

Ambassador Vinh expressed his belief that, under the new US administration, the bilateral comprehensive partnership will continue to thrive practically and steadily for the interest of both peoples and for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world. He also reported on Vietnam’s progress in the renewal process and national construction and defence. Mr. Vinh said that Vietnam has a new generation of dynamic youth who desire to absorb knowledge and experience from developed countries around the world, including the US.
