As the pandemic has been put under control worldwide, demand for guest workers has surged in many countries including South Korea, Japan, and Malaysia.

“The labor export market has recovered. More than 51,000 Vietnamese workers were sent abroad in the first half of this year, mainly to Japan, Chinese Taipei, and South Korea,” said Nguyen Gia Liem, Deputy Director of the Department of Overseas Labor under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

“The target of sending 90,000 workers overseas this year is feasible,” he noted.

Vietnamese authorities are also eyeing other potential markets like Germany, Russia, and Israel.
