Vietnam’s shrimp exports expect to surpass 3.5 billion USD

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s shrimp farming hopes to reap more than 3.5 billion USD from exports this year, heard a seminar held on Friday in Soc Trang province on implementing tasks to develop Vietnam’s shrimp farming in brackish waters in 2020. 

Addressing the event, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong said that shrimp aquaculture has potential and opportunities to grow despite numerous challenges, including the Covid-19 epidemic.

Experts urged the Ministry and local authorities to take drastic measures to prevent salinity intrusion and diseases while providing timely weather forecasts to help this sector further grow.
