(VOVworld) - The Foreign Ministry hosted a New Year meeting with foreign embassies and media agencies in Vietnam in Hanoi on Thursday.

Addressing the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc said Vietnam welcomed more than 30 heads of state and senior officials from other countries and successfully organized many important international events. Vietnam has fulfilled its role with high approval from the international community in its bid for membership in many world fora. He lauded the role of foreign diplomats and media workers in promoting cultural exchange, mutual understanding and friendship between Vietnam and other countries. 

He praised the dedicated and professional work of foreign reporters, saying that their stories have covered Vietnam’s socio-economic development and efforts to fulfill its international commitments.
