The agency also reported a 12% decline in the number of violations of the Law on Forestry this year while the area of forest lost due to fires, deforestation, and natural disasters plunged 33% year on year.

Vietnam has seen positive progress in forest protection, wildfire prevention and fighting compared to the previous year, it said.
