(VOVWORLD) - Despite the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on global trade, Vietnam’s annual exports to Australia grew 62% in January to more than 390 million USD, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Aside from increased exports of items such as timber, wooden products, toys, plastics, electrical wiring, cables, textiles, garments, and footwear, Vietnam’s agricultural and aquatic products are also gradually winning over consumers in Australia.

The Department noted that, in 2020, there was a surge in the number of Australian businesses seeking Vietnamese partners via the Vietnamese Trade Office in Australia. Most companies highly value the quality of Vietnamese products, and wish to expand their market and diversify supply chains.
