The Long Son Petrochemical Complex costs 4 billion USD to build and is capable of turning out 1.6 million tones of olefins per year. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc told participants at the ground-breaking ceremony that the project will help boost Vietnam’s petrochemical industry.
The complex is expected to be operational by 2022 to meet the growing demand of local industries for high-quality plastic resins valued at up to 2 billion USD annually.
