(VOVworld) – The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a ceremony in Dong Thap province on Sunday to launch the 2017 Youth Month under theme “Youths join hands to build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas”.

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue said at the function that March has been observed the Youth Month for more than 10 years. Since then, the Youth Union at all levels has diversified its activities to attract tens of millions of young people.

Mr. Hue said Youth Month is the time for young people to blaze their passion, enthusiasm, and the spirit of vanguard to work in remote and disadvantaged areas.

Mr. Hue noted: “During the action month and in the future, the Youth Union organizations at various levels should choose activities compatible to their capacity and conditions.  It’s also necessary to mobilize resources and the involvement of people from all walks of life and social organizations.”

This year’s Youth Month will focus on promoting the organization’s glorious tradition, calling on young people to contribute to the development of new-style rural and civilized urban areas, organizing environmental protection and climate change response activities, and encouraging them to join in implementing economic, cultural, and social targets.
