(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese banana cake and steamed tapioca layer cake have been listed among 100 best rated cakes in the world by renowned food ranking website, Taste Atlas.

“Bananas are the star ingredient in this classic Vietnamese dessert which can be steamed (hấp) or baked (nướng). It usually consists of sliced bananas and a creamy combination of condensed milk, sugar, coconut milk, and optionally bread, eggs, or shredded coconut.

Steamed tapioca layer cake has chewy layers that are typically made with puréed mung beans, tapioca starch, rice flour, and coconut milk or water, stated Taste Atlas.

Taste Atlas recently ranked 24 Asian countries with the best cuisines, in which Vietnam was placed 6th, followed by Philippines, Iran, Georgia, Thailand, Syria, and Malaysia. The top 5 are Japan, India, China, Indonesia, and South Korea.
