Vietnamese students win gold medals at Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad

(VOVWORLD) - 12th graders Nguyen Manh Quan and Tran Quang Vinh of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School have won gold medal of the Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad (APhO). Quan earned the highest score and a Certificate of Merit by the APhO President in 2021.

The Ministry of Education and Training said on Sunday that all 8 participating students of Vietnam won prizes, including 2 golds, 1 silver, 3 bronze, and 2 Certificates of Merit. This was the first time Vietnamese students gained such high achievement when competing in APhO.

The 2021 Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad, which closed on Monday, was hosted online by Taiwan (China). Originally planned in 2020, the competition was rescheduled to this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There were 23 teams with 181 contestants.
