Vietnamese sports delegation leaves for SEA Games in Cambodia

(VOVWORLD) -140 members of the Vietnamese sports delegation on Wednesday left Hanoi for Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, to compete at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games).

This departure day saw the largest number of delegates including leaders, officials, coaches and members of pencak silat, karate and Kun Khmer teams.

Team Leader Dang Ha Viet expressed the Vietnamese sports delegation’s resolve before setting off to compete at the 32nd SEA Games.

“As the whole country is jubilantly welcoming the big holidays, especially, the Vietnam sports delegation has won the first Gold medal of the SEA Games, we are very happy and vow to do out best at the competitions. This is the first gold medal of Vietnam and also the first gold medal of the 32nd SEA Games,” Viet said. 

On Wednesday, the flags of countries participating in the Games were raised at the Cambodia National Sports Complex Modorok Techo.

The first gold medal of the 32nd SEA Games went to Vietnam after Phuong Thao and Hong An won the Cambodian chess women's doubles event on Tuesday.
