Vietnamese Lunar New Year celebrated abroad

(VOVWORLD) - The overseas Vietnamese community is an integral part of the Vietnamese nation, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, permanent representative of Vietnam to the UN, said at the "Community Tet - Spring Homeland 2023" program organized in New York on Saturday.

Giang insisted that Vietnam’s current position and the fine development of the Vietnam-US relationship are partly due to the enormous support of Vietnamese people abroad, including those in New York and neighboring states, and the American friends. Saturday’s program was attended by 500 people.

On Sunday, 100 people of Vietnamese descent attended a Lunar New Year program organized by the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese Association in Chennai, India.

Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai said that the overseas Vietnamese community is an integral part, an internal resource of the Vietnamese nation, and an important factor contributing to the friendly cooperation between Vietnam and other countries.

“The Vietnamese Embassy considers working with Vietnamese in India a pillar of its activities. We strive to support people to do business, live, and improve their legal status in India and organize activities to connect expatriates with their homeland and contribute to national development,” said Hai.

Similar programs were held on the same day by the Vietnamese missions in Japan, Cuba, Germany, Brunei, and Canada.
