Most Venerable Thich Hanh Chanh, President of Representatives of Vietnamese monks and followers in India highlighted the significance of the event and read a message on Vesak Day by the Head of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS). Head of VBS, Most Venerable Thich Pho Tue called on Buddhist dignitaries and followers to take practical activities to protect the environment and deal with climate change.

The same day, the Buddhist monks, nuns and followers and Vietnamese community in Laos held a ceremony to celebrate the Vesak Day 2016 at Phat Tich pagoda in Vientiane. Most Venerable Thich Minh Quang, Head of Phat Tich pagoda, talked about Buddha’s teaching which asks people to love, share and help each other, and pray for a peaceful world.
