Vietnamese architect wins UIA prize

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese architect Hoang Thuc Hao has been awarded the Vassilis Sgoutas Prize by the International Union of Architects (UIA) at Friday’s ceremony held in Seoul, South Korea.

The prize honors an architect or team that has made a significant contribution to improving the living conditions of the poorest - to their habitat, their environment and their well-being. Hao was honored for his projects for the poor in rural and mountainous areas of Vietnam.

Two architects, Doan Thanh Ha and Tran Ngoc Phuong, won second prizes at the “Most Friendly and Inclusive Designs” competition.

At the 26th World Architects Congress which concluded on Friday in Seoul, the Unions of Architects of Vietnam and South Korea held an exhibition showcasing works by 100 creators. Vietnamese architects presented their works on green space and community.
