Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan said that Vietnam aims to become a transparent, responsible and sustainable food supplier, develop ecological agriculture, and make the most of natural advantages while protecting the environment.

He said Vietnam wants to promote sustainable agriculture and rural transformation on three themes: ecological agriculture, modern rural areas, and smart farmers.

Mr. Hoan said Vietnam's agriculture is shifting its focus from increasing output to improving product quality.

"That is our goal and nothing is impossible because we are receiving support from international organizations, particularly the World Wildlife Fund and we hope to continue cooperating on our shared mission and mutual responsibility", he added.

Prasana De Silva, Executive Director - Country Offices Management at WWF, is committed to working with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in restructuring and developing the agricultural sector sustainably.
