(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam wishes to continue partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to raise migrant workers’ awareness and help them make migration decisions with sufficient information and via safe channels, said Deputy Director of the Overseas Labor Department Dang Si Dung.

Dung addressed Wednesday consultation on cooperation program for labor migration from 2024 to 2028.

IOM Chief of Mission in Vietnam Park Mihyung pledges to work closely with the Vietnamese Government to develop migrant workers’ skills, give them better employment chances, and improve their migration experience.

She said the IOM applauds the Vietnamese Government’s important commitments to protecting migrant workers’ rights and creating a favorable environment for facilitating safe labor migration to benefit people, the community, and local socio-economic development.
