(VOVworld) - WIPO Director-General Francis Gurry has expressed his delight at the impressive development between the World Intellectual Property Organisation and Vietnam.

Gurry made the remark at Wednesday’s working session in Geneva with the Vietnamese delegation led by teh Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Viet Thanh, to the 55th session of the organization’s Assemblies of the Member States.Gurry said he hopes he will pay an official visit to Vietnam soon to tighten relations between the two sides.
Thanh, who is also the director of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam, thanked the organization’s support forthe development of Vietnam’s intellectual property (IP) system and his agency in particular. Thanh also took this occasion to call for more WIPO support in preparing for its joining and implementation of international treaties in this field, calling on the organisation to send experts to help Vietnam train human resources and raise public awareness of international treaties
