The Vietnamese students won 7 gold medals in technology, physics, biology, and chemistry. One of Vietnam's 25 theses is "New method to forecast RNA secondary structure based on two-dimensional LSTM and genetic algorithm" by a group of IT students from Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and Hanoi Pedagogical School for the Gifted.

WICO is an annual competition organized by the Korea University Invention Association and sponsored by the National Assembly of South Korea. The competition is open to students of grades 6-12 around the world.
