(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged ministries and sectors to stay alert and continue measures to control COVID-19.

At a recent government meeting on COVID-19 prevention and control, Mr. Phuc said Vietnam is still working to fight the pandemic while stimulating economic growth and is determined to prevent a second wave of infections. The Prime Minister asked the media to continue publicizing COVID-19 prevention measures.

No new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Friday, the 78th straight day with no community transmission of the coronavirus in Vietnam.

Nearly 96 percent of all COVID-19 patients in Vietnam have recovered, and there have been no deaths. The 15 remaining patients are in stable condition.

Vietnam's most critically ill COVID-19 patient, a British pilot, has recovered and is expected to leave for Scotland next week.
