Vietnam urges Libyans to comply with ceasefire

(VOVWORLD) - Ambassador Pham Hai Anh, deputy head of Vietnam’s permanent mission to the UN, has called on all parties involved in the Libyan conflict to abide by the current ceasefire agreement and resolve economic and humanitarian issues in conformity with international law.

Mr. Anh, who spoke Monday at a UN Security Council video teleconference on Libya, praised the progress he has seen in Libya since the beginning of the year, not just achieving a ceasefire, but also the formation of a Government of National Unity.

Ambassador Anh stressed that prosecuting violations of international humanitarian law and other serious crimes should be conducted in accordance with international law while respecting independence and national sovereignty.
