The Party leader highlighted the significance of the Ugandan President's visit, especially when the two countries are preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their bilateral ties.

Mr. Trong said Vietnam pays special attention to enhancing ties with African countries in general and Uganda in particular.

He praised the outcomes of the talks of the Presidents of Vietnam and Uganda and agreements signed during the visit. Mr. Trong said the two countries have great potential to boost bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of political will and determination of the two countries’ leaders to fostering bilateral ties.

President Yoweri Museveni praised the Communist Party of Vietnam’s leadership in making Vietnam a prosperous country and said he wanted to further bilateral relations with Vietnam.

The two sides agreed to work closely to strengthen bilateral ties in a practical manner to meet their potential.
