Vietnam, Turkey forge relations

(VOV) - Vietnam and Turkey have signed a programme of action between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2013-2015 and a memorandum of understanding between their Diplomatic Academies.The signing took place during a visit to Turkey by Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phuong Nga from April 15-17.

(VOV) - Vietnam and Turkey have signed a programme of action between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2013-2015 and a memorandum of understanding between their Diplomatic Academies.The signing took place during a visit to Turkey by Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phuong Nga from April 15-17.

During her stay, Nga co-chaired the second political consultation with her Turkish counterpart Mehmet Fatih Ceylan, and met with Deputy Minister of Economy Mustapha Serve, and Deputy Minister of Customs and Trade Fatih Metin. She also met with representatives of the Istanbul administration, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, and the Turkey-Vietnam business council, and visited economic establishments in Ankara and Istanbul.

Both sides expressed satisfaction at the rapid development of the Vietnam-Turkey relationship in recent times and agreed to boost bilateral cooperation in various areas, especially in economics, trade, labour, agriculture, and education-training.They also agreed to accelerate negotiations and signing of agreements on double tax avoidance, investment protection and encouragement, and customs cooperation.They discussed preparations for the 6th session of the Joint Vietnam-Turkey Committee due to take place in Turkey in 2013.They shared the view that the two countries need to further cooperate and support each other at international forums.
