Mr. Phuc made the statement during a reception for Governor of Oregon state Kate Brown in Hanoi on Monday. He affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to its cooperation with Oregon – the US’s leading economic, industrial, and technological hub.

There remains ample room for bilateral collaboration, he said, adding that Vietnam is willing to facilitate the state’s investment.  

Mr. Phuc proposed Oregon share experience and provide technical and financial assistance for Vietnam in climate change response and sustainable and environmentally-friendly development, and boost cooperation in green technology, hi-tech agriculture, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchange.

Governor Brown said Oregon will continue to promote trade and economic cooperation with Vietnam, noting that she wants to promote extensive educational cooperation, two-way student exchange to allow more Vietnamese students at Portland University and Orion State students to study in Vietnam.
