Vietnam to take over ASEAN Chairmanship in November

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam will take over the ASEAN Chairmanship from Thailand on November 4, the last day of the 35th ASEAN Summit.

According to Suriya Chindawongse, Director-General of the ASEAN Department under the Thai Foreign Ministry, the summit and related meetings will draw leaders and representatives of 20 countries, who will debate strategies to push forward economic growth and the ASEAN Outlook on Indo-Pacific. He added that ASEAN is ready to offer the best conditions for major countries to engage in constructive talks to address economic and security issues.
