Pollard praised Vietnam's contributions to the work of the UN, including the contributions of Vietnamese individuals who currently work for  UN agencies. She said she is ready to work closely with Vietnam and other member countries to promote the role of the UN and the multilateralism, and strengthen the representation of member countries.

Emphasizing Vietnam's commitment to the work of the UN, Ambassador Giang cited Vietnam's efforts over the years, including sending military and police personnel to participate in UN peacekeeping, making financial contributions to peacekeeping operations, and making annual contributions to the UN. The Ambassador said Vietnam attaches great importance to its relations with the UN and hopes to make greater contributions by increasing its representation in UN agencies.
