Addressing a meeting on Friday, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, Vu Duc Dam urged the Health Ministry to evaluate the safety, validity, and efficiency of the inoculations.

"In the past, even general immunization programs of millions of doses saw anomalous incidents. If we don’t carefully evaluate the situation, small mistakes can turn into big problems. Many kinds of vaccines have been studied for several years, whereas the COVID-19 vaccines have been trialed, produced, and licensed urgently. We need to carefully prepare. The production of domestic vaccines should also be enhanced,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Vietnam will provide 117,000 doses of the Astra Zeneca COVID-19 vaccine to people on the front line of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, including medical workers as well as army and public security forces in 13 cities and provinces.
